It exerts its bactericidal action through the inhibition of spore germination, destruction of the cell wall and bacterial growth. The product increases the permeability of the cell membrane and facilitates the exit of protoplasm and the entry of water into the interior of the bacterial cells, causing them to burst; Likewise, it inhibits the respiratory chain and inactivates essential cellular enzymes for bacterial growth and spore germination. In plants they have a high affinity with transport enzymes which allows their acropetal and basipetal movement, this translocation confers a local systematic effect.
